Pre-conditioning and Grow Yard

Rimrock Cattle Company believes in the value of pre-conditioning calves from a morbidity and performance standpoint.  In fact, our pre-conditioning program coupled with a strict health protocol has kept our morbidity rate under 2% for years.  Rimrock Cattle Company currently pre-conditions calves for outside clients.  This program is invaluable to keeping cattle on track in their growth pattern if facilities or time limit the rancher from providing this for freshly weaned calves.

Located in View, Texas 25 miles Southwest of Abilene, Rimrock Cattle Company currently operates a facility designed to lower the cost of gain and maximize genetic potential.  Cattle are fed in our grow yard until a specified weight, typically heavier than that of conventional feeders, before they are transferred to the feedyard.  Rimrock Cattle Company feels that the advantages of an arid climate, close management, and a structured and tailor formulated diet ration are the keys to making this program essential for their operation as well as their clients, especially with input prices rising.

Gain Tests

Rimrock Cattle Company conducts gain testing on steers from culled bull groups for seedstock producers.  The information collection can be tailored to your specified needs/desires.  Ultrasound is also available at your discretion.
